Heather McDonald

Heather McDonald is the Vice President of Market Access at AstraZeneca Canada Inc., one of Canada’s leading biopharmaceutical companies. She brings to the position more than 20 years of experience in the Canadian and Global biopharmaceutical industry – including in market access, health economics, real world evidence, pricing, government affairs, and clinical research.  

 Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Heather was the Global Vice President of Market Access, Cell and Gene Therapies & Digital Health – responsible for creating innovative solutions for payers and healthcare systems worldwide for Bayer AG’s CGT (Cell & Gene Therapies) and Digital Health assets, and for advancing digital transformation within the global market access function. 

 Heather holds a Ph.D in Health Economics and Policy from McMaster University, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Health Research Methodology and a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), Honors Biology and Pharmacology from McMaster University.
