Head of Government Relations and Public Affairs


Mr. Christian Ouellet joined Novartis Canada in 2009. Since June 2020, he has held the position of Head of Government and Corporate Affairs for the 3 divisions of the company and reports directly to the National President. Previously, from 2014 to May 2020, he was Director of Government Affairs at Sandoz Canada, a subsidiary of Novartis, and between 2009 and 2014 he was Head of Health Policy and Economics in the Novartis Pharma division.

He has 23 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry. He held positions in sales, marketing, market analysis, market access and drug reimbursement at GlaxoSmithKline from 1997 to 2009.

He holds a Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from a joint program of the Université Paris-Dauphine and the Université du Québec à Montréal (ESG-UQAM), obtained with the distinction for involvement in student activities and community outreach. He also holds a Certificate in organizational leadership from HEC Montréal, obtained with mention of excellence. In 1995, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Quebec at Rimouski (UQAR).

Mr. Ouellet has been a member of the Order of Chartered Administrators of Quebec (Adm.A) since 2015.

Mr. Ouellet is very involved in his community and currently sits on several economic, sports and community boards of directors. Notably, he is Governor of the Network of Young Chambers of Commerce of Quebec (RJCCQ).
