Christian Ouellet has more than 23 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical sector. He was recently promoted to Head of Government and Corporate Affairs of Novartis Canada Inc., which oversees the 3 divisions of this pharmaceutical company. From 2014 to 2020, he held the position of Director of Government Affairs at Sandoz Canada (a subsidiary of the Novartis Group). From 2009 to 2013, he was Head of Health and Economic Policy in the Novartis Pharmaceuticals division.
From 1997 to 2009, he held various positions in sales, marketing, market analysis, market access and drug reimbursement at the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline.
He holds a master’s degree in business administration from a joint program of Université Paris-Dauphine and Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). He also holds a certificate in organizational leadership from HEC Montréal with honors. In 1995, he obtained a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR).
Christian Ouellet has been a member of the Ordre des Administrateurs agréés du Québec (Adm.A) since 2015. He was co-chair of a panel for the Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference in 2017.
Christian Ouellet is very involved in his community and currently sits on several economic, sports and community boards. He is a governor of the Réseau des jeunes chambres de commerce du Québec (RJCCQ).
